わたしはせんせいです。or わたしはきょうしです。?

I meant to ask this a while ago. Isn't it more modest to use 教師(きょうし)than to use 先生(せんせい)when a person is describing oneself? I don't want to sound arrogant when I start to live in Japan. Thank you for any answer in advance. :D

Know someone who might be able to answer this question?

Yes! You're right.  When you talk about yourself, you should use きょうし instead of せんせい.  Good luck on your "sensei life" in Japan!

Thank you so much, Masako-sensei. I know that those who are modest are popular to Japanese people. Thanks again.
