Maybe I missed something, but how do I decide when to use

こと and when のが?

Know someone who might be able to answer this question?

There was actually a video put out about this topic just a few days ago.

Ill summarize the main points

- こと and のが can be used interchangably in most cases

-こと is used when the sentence ends in です、 だ、Or である

-こと is also used in fixed phrases like ことにする and ことがある

-の is used with perceptions like hearing and seeing because こと originaly means thing.
