つづく and つづける

I dont know in which lesson these two words were introduced, but both basically means to continue. Then in lesson with potential forms, one of examples was
つづける -> つづけられる - to be able to continue. But then i noticed that つづける is actually already potential form of つづく. Are those two words different and written with different kanji or is it possible to form "double" potential form of some godan verbs, for example like this:
うごく -> うごける -> うごけられる

Know someone who might be able to answer this question?

Isn’t one transitive and the other intransitive?

Yes, つづくis an intransitive verb and つづける is a transitive verb. (Both mean "to continue") For example, このあめは、まだつづくでしょう。This rain will continue. べんきょうをつづけましょう。Let's continue to study. *Potential form of つづける=つづけられる e.g. テニスのれんしゅうをつづけられます。I can continue to practice tennis. *Passive form of つづく=つづけられる かいぎは、まだつづけられるでしょう。The meeting will be continued.
