So a huge problem I have with most beginner japanese classes, and, based on this introduction, it appears this one is no different, is the speed of the speech.
I'm very sorry to say, but japanese people just cannot seem to be able to speak slowly. Or that they also need to put pauses in between words. I can say "ゆっくりおねがいします" all day long, but they just repeat what they said before at the same pace.
As regards the welcome speech in this lesson, it is obvious the speaker is speaking slower than normal conversational speed and trying to be clear. But it is still MUCH too fast and without breaks between words for a true beginning student to have any hope of even picking apart the words.
When I speak with japanese people who struggle with english, I'm always commended on how I speak slowly and clearly and that I'm very easy to understand (despite my Aussie accent!). It's a shame the same courtesy is rarely returned, especially in a learning situation.
Or maybe it's just me. :/
Thank you for considering.
