He looks like an ear from Hello Kitty, Ho has a cross so it's HOly, HA is like hawks' talons, HI looks like a drink in a glass missing one side. So HI(ball) FU is like half an upside down mushroom, so FU(ngus)

Try saying takushī over and over again fast. After a while (at least for me) the u drops out. I believe it's called elision. In other words takUshī is very awkward to pronounce so the u drops out. Just like "I'm" in English instead of "I am" or "don't" instead of "do not." Desu is the same; the u becomes awkward after a while so it's elided to des.

i think they don't pronounce the "u" when it's in the middle (e.g. takUshi, sUkatto) but they pronounce it when it's at the end of the word (e.g. naifU).. i notice it's like that for most words but i'm not 100% sure about this (just my observation) 'coz they don't pronounce the "u" in desU
