melon-san,

It's just an expression.  When いれる is used with おちゃ, コーヒー, etc., it means "brew." いれるhas a lot of meanings.  Please take a look at the link.

Thank you for your question!

Hello!

How does can ジョンさん、コーヒー入れてくれる? mean 'John can you make coffee for me'?

I thought ireru means to put?

Let me explain a little bit.

In this case, you need to think そうじきをかける as one verb: vacuume in English.  The verb かける has several meanings, but when it's used with the noun そうじき(vacuume cleaner), it means "to clean with a vacuume cleaner."  So, the sentence should be read as "being forced to vacuume by my sister."

Hope this helps!

Could you explain the sentence ぼくは、お姉ちゃんに、そうじきをかけさせられているの。

The translation states そうじきをかけさせられているの is Forced to do the Vacuuming however the vocabulary list states そうじき is Cleaner. I am assuming かけさせられているの means "Being forced to be?" Is this correct? So the sentance is somthing more like "I'm being forced to be my sisters cleaner"?
Thanks
