Thanks, I was wondering about that because I knew that its supposed to be (goodbye for good) but it seemed like
the lesson was saying you can just throw さようなら around as a formal see ya later.

or また *insert when you will meet next, saturday, next week* etc :3

'では、また' is the more formal version of 'じゃ、また'.
See you tomorrow - じゃ、また あした.

It should be noted that the most common use for さようなら is for formally saying goodbye in the context that you will not be meeting again anytime soon. This last part is quite important.
