Start here

This is your first step into Japanese. You will learn all hiragana and katakana characters. These are the two phonetic alphabets used in everything. By the end, you can read and write all kana. You will know basic greetings and simple sentences. No prior knowledge needed.

Beginner

JLPT N5

The Beginner level covers everything tested at JLPT N5. You will learn around 800 words and key grammar patterns. You will also start reading kanji. Topics include daily life, numbers, time, family, and basic verbs. By the end, you can understand simple Japanese and have a basic conversation.

Intermediate

JLPT N4

The Intermediate level targets JLPT N4. You go from basic communication to real fluency in everyday life. You will learn many more words and verb forms, including te-form and potential. You will read longer kanji passages. This is where Japanese starts to feel natural.
