How to actually learn N1 vocabulary

How many words do you need for the JLPT N1?

This list contains 3,087 words for JLPT N1. The JLPT has not published official vocabulary lists since 2010, so every N1 list — ours included — is based on past exams and established prep materials. Treat it as the working set you should recognise to pass comfortably.

Should I learn vocabulary or kanji first for the N1?

Together. Words are how kanji stick: a character learned inside three real words is far more durable than one memorised from a list of meanings. Work through this vocabulary list and the kanji come with it.

How should I memorise JLPT N1 vocabulary?
